Permits – Development and Construction Plan Review
All new construction permitted through the Town of Atherton Building Department, City of East Palo Alto Building Department, City of Menlo Park Building Department and the San Mateo County Building Department within our District is reviewed and inspected by the Fire and Life Safety Division to ensure plans meet applicable fire and life-safety requirements. All new installations and all modifications to fire protection and life safety systems are reviewed and inspected by the Fire and Life Safety Division to that the installation or modifications meet applicable fire and life-safety codes and standards.

Menlo Park Fire District is happy to announce our new Online Permitting System with Accela Citizen Access (ACA). Here you can submit your application, upload required documents, pay fees, and schedule your inspections. You can view your status at any time by logging into the account you created.

Development
The Fire District is an outside referral agency for development plan review for the Town of Atherton, City of East Palo Alto, City of Menlo Park and Unincorporated San Mateo County. Development plans are reviewed to verify that proposed development within our District is serviceable and will provide infrastructure that complies with requirements of the adopted fire code.
